Empowering Growth Through Peer Learning
Launched in 2025, Peer Genius is the result of Melanie Bailey’s experience of more than a quarter of a century in education, including extensive work in mainstream schools and her current role in a hospital school supporting children unable to attend their mainstream setting. Melanie has always been inspired by the power of relatable role models and the transformative potential of peer-to-peer learning.
Peer Genius trains GCSE and A-level students, chosen for their resilience, empathy and academic ability, to be peer tutors and mentors. They support their peers academically, socially and emotionally, helping learners make progress, build confidence and feel motivated; they also gain leadership skills and meaningful experience themselves.
By learning alongside peers closer to their own age and experience, students receive guidance and encouragement from someone who truly understands their challenges, helping them feel supported, inspired and ready to succeed.
